ITALIAN BREAD STICKS

3 c. warm water
2 T. yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. oil
1 T. salt
6-8 c. flour

Combine and knead for 5 min. Rise in warm oven until double (200 deg. then turn off). Spread dough into a greased cookie sheet. Cut into bread sticks (I use a pizza cutter) while on the cookie sheet, before the second rise. Spread topping on top of bread stick dough before baking. Let rise until double. Bake 375 20-25 min until golden.


Topping:
1/2 c. melted butter
1/2 c. mayonaise
1/2 c. parmesan cheese
1/2 t. garlic or garlic powder
1 t. dried parsley
