Grandma Harvey's Macaroni and Cheese

Macaroni - Can Milk – graded Medium Cheddar Cheese – Salt and Pepper

For the amounts you will have to be the judge, depending on the number of people you are feeding.

For a small bowl, grandma used approximately 1 cup of macaroni and 1/3 cup of canned milk and 1 cup of cheese.

Cook the macaroni as you always do adding just a little salt to the water. When the macaroni is done drain most of the water off, leaving just a little water in the bottom of the pan. NO MORE THAN A QUARTER CUP OF WATER.

With the macaroni still in your pan and the heat on slowly begin adding a little can milk and a hand full of graded cheese stirring gently. If the sauce is not thick enough you can add more cheese being careful not to add too much or it will be stringy.

Salt and Pepper to your taste.

Layer your casserole as many times as you want. Using first a little macaroni then sprinkle it with cheese then repeat the process. Top the casserole with cheese.
Place the casserole in your microwave and cook only until the cheese is fully melted.

Note: You must use unsweetened can milk or it will not taste like Grandma’s.
