Everything BREAD!!!

This is Grandpa Jan and Grandma Donna's favorite Bread!!

1 TBL Yeast
3/4 Cup warm water
2 TBL Sugar

**Place in large Bowl or mixer. Let set until it bubbles**

1/4 cup Butter, softened
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 teasp salt
4 to 4 1/2 cups Flour

Add the yeast to the mixture and 2 cups of the flour.
Beat on medium speed for 3 minutes.
Stir in enough remaining flour to form a firm soft dough.
Turn out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6 to 8 minutes.
Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise until doubled. About 1 hour.

Punch dough down
Turn onto a lightly floured surface
Divide dough into thirds
Shape each into a 20 inch rope
Place ropes on a large greased baking sheet and braid
Pinch ends to seal and tuck under

Cover and let rise for another 45 minutes.


Bread Topping

1 egg white
2 tsp water
**Put in small bowl and whisk till foamy. Spread over dough just before baking**

1 tsp course sea salt
1 tsp dried minced onion
1 tsp each sesame, caraway and poppy seeds.

Put all into small bowl, mix together good and sprinkle over the egg white mixture on the bread.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.

Remove from pan to a wire rack to cool.
